The Soča, Tolminka and Idrijca are known for fishing, and the Soča for water sports too. Fishing is not included in the price.
On foot from the door to the Tolmin Gorges and up Kozlov rob to the castle ruins. By car to the mountain villages of Tolminske Ravne and Čadrg, up the Tolminka valley to Polog and the memorial church at Javorca, and below Mt Razor.
Tolmin Museum and the town square are 8 minutes on foot, the German Charnel House from the First World War 20 minutes. Tolmin has shops, a market, restaurants and pizzerias.
The Tolmin area is known for Tolminc cheese and curd from the local dairies, and for curd štruklji (rolled dumplings).
